The tropical rainforest is a warm, wet, and humid place where tall trees create a leafy canopy high above the ground. Students shared fascinating facts about the layers of the rainforest and the specific animals they researched that live in this lush, green world.

Hello, welcome to the Maple Cat Chat. Today we are here with some first graders to talk about the rainforest.

SPEAKER_00

We are so glad you are here.

SPEAKER_02

Every habitat is special. Let's get the habitat scoop to find out why this home is just right for the plants and animals who lived here.

SPEAKER_00

It rains all year. It has lots of trees in the rainforest. In the rainforest, there's a lot of bushes. The rainforest is warm all the time. There are two cans in the rainforest.

SPEAKER_02

Great job, team. It sounds like the rainforest is just right for the plants and animals that live there. It has food, water, and plenty of shelter. This just in, we have some amazing animals to tell you about. Squeak, roar, and splash. Here come the facts.

SPEAKER_00

A jaguar is the top predator in the rainforest. Scrum monkeys stay in trees from us at the time. Chickens throw their food and they eat it. The Bob and Stickle can eat stuff that is bigger than the mouse. Jaguars are the third largest cats in the world.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, those are some amazing animals. Before we go, let's remember the three things animals need to survive in their habitats.

SPEAKER_01

Food, water, and shelter.

SPEAKER_02

Would you like to live in the rainforest?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Thanks for joining us for the Maple Cat Shop.
